Project Manager – Product Office | 12-Month Contract
Durban | Office-Based | Up to ±R57,800 per month (B-2-B contract)
Are you an experienced technology Project Manager who enjoys bringing structure, governance and predictability to complex delivery?
We're recruiting a Project Manager to join the Product Office of a major international technology organisation in Durban on a 12-month contract.
You'll lead medium-to-large technology projects and programmes, managing multiple workstreams, dependencies, risks, stakeholders, vendors and budgets while working closely with engineering and product teams.
What you'll do
- Plan and deliver medium-to-large technology projects and programmes
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and workstreams
- Manage dependencies, RAID, governance and executive reporting
- Select and apply Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall or Hybrid delivery approaches
- Engage senior leaders, executives, technical teams and external vendors
- Own project budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking
- Facilitate planning workshops and steering committees
- Work closely with engineering teams across SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, testing and release management
- Use modern Microsoft 365, project-management and AI tools to improve delivery and reporting
- Maintain a strong focus on outcomes, customer value and measurable benefits
What we're looking for
- Experience delivering medium-to-large technology projects or programmes
- PMI PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, SAFe or equivalent certification
- Strong Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall and/or Hybrid delivery experience
- Understanding of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, testing and release management
- Strong stakeholder management, including senior leadership
- Vendor and commercial-partner management experience
- Budgeting, forecasting and financial-tracking experience
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or equivalent
- Advanced Microsoft 365 capability
- Practical exposure to AI-assisted working using Microsoft Copilot, Claude AI or similar
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills
Highly advantageous: iGaming/Gaming experience, cloud/platform modernisation, regulatory/security programmes, enterprise transformation and organisational change.
Contract: 12 months
Location: Durban, on-site
Target remuneration: R57,500 per month, invoiced to Avatar and paid from the UK.
